I thought that I might mix together an audio piece for my 5 page equivalent (roughly 4 or 5 minutes) due this Feb.  This project was spawned when listening to a record I picked up in the dollar section of the Amoeba Music store.  I was drawn to the cover art, like most of my awesome finds and the symbols therein.  The first side of the record was one track.  It was a mix of drum beats and reverbed vocal tracks repeating and not particularly spectacular, but one line caught my attention as it related to MyCurrentPath.  The vocal track was a low male voice repeating, "You're learning the ways of the world kid, you're learning the ways of the world."

Recently I looked up the word "modernity" in the dictionary.  I have to admit, I had heard the word many times in context, but did not connect the spelling and the pronounciation.  When spoken, I thought the word pointed to "maternity" rather than "modernity", even when used in the proper context.  Somewhere, there existed in my consciousness a place where modernism and maternity carried the same meaning, or place, perhaps this can point to that.

This is a sample of the audio piece that I am building.  This is just the beginning with only a few tracks before any refined editing.  If anyone would like to provide wav or mp3 files, I will attempt to work them into the piece.  I will post revisions and additions as part of my wiki practice.

Chapter 6 - First Draft

Witan waved at Lily and said, "I look forward to your return," and closed the basket door.  All Lily could see now was his red hat poking up from the basket.  She heard the crank release the clip and watched the basket descend to the forest below.  The sounds of Witan's headpiece slowly faded way.

It was night once Lily and Prokhor reached the top of the steps.  The small fires in the village below danced within their own circular enclosures.   The rest of the valley was nearly pitch black except for a blue moonlight glow which rippled like waves across the breathing canopy.

Rays of blue light danced from the stone pathway, which now continued from the stairs, and mixed with the shadow of the brush ahead.  Lily could only see blue light through the brush.  A sharp spike of anxiety shot through the center of her chest.  She wanted to run and break through the brush, while at the same time knowing that she did not know what lay beyond it, she was cautious.

With Prokhor as her guide, they approached the brush and broke through together to the other side.  "The Tree of Creation," Prokhor thought to Lily.  His aura was no longer visible due to the intense glow of the tree.

Immediately Lily fell to her knees in the becoming light.

Chapter 6 - First Round Edits

Witan waved to Lily and closed the basket door.  All she could see now was his red hat poking up from the basket.  Witan's beeping headpiece slowly faded away as the basket smoothly descended to the forest below.  Small fires in the village danced within their own circular enclosures.  The rest of the valley was in darkness now, but for a blue moonlit glow which rippled like waves across the breathing canopy.

The stone pathway continued from the stairs and led into an intense blue light eclipsed by plant life.  Light danced between the brush as if a mysterious alien contact lay through the shadow.  A sharp spike of anxiety shot through the center of Lily's chest, she was cautious in her curiosity.  With Prokhor as her guide, they approached and broke through together to the other side.

"The Tree of Creation," Prokhor symphonically growled.  Lily fell to her knees immediately in the becoming light.
