This story is very cool. First of all, I really enjoyed the Idea that there is LSD in our water. It kind of makes me think about how there is Flouride in some water and hwo that affects people. What would the side affects be of taking LSD every time you drank out of a faucet? From PKD's view, it would just change our outlook on the world. It is also very interesting how the whole world shares the same hallucination. They all see things the same and view The Leader/ His Greatness, as a man, but even that is a false image produced by the government in order to make him look Cauc.
So, what would happen to the world if we put LSD in the water supplies without them knowing? Would the world adapt? Would many people go crazy from it? Would some people not be affected by it and see through the artificial imagery?
I quite enjoyed one particular quote from the story. About half-way through, Chien is talking to Lee and asks her is she is anti-Party. Lee responds no and then Chien says, "But-that's all there is: Party and anti-Party. You must be Party, then." This really stuck out to me because it really resembles a part of our society. People seem to believe that you are either for something or against it. You are either an American or a damn terrorist. Black and white. No one sees the mid ground of anything. No one recognizes anyones attempts to bring both sides to an agreement. I thought of Mobius rant on dolphins from earlier. Dolphins save people or they rape their women. They are either good or bad. people are stupid...
There was a lot of other things that caught my attention but I don't really feel like typing much more. However, so I don't forget...

I love this quote. It really shows the trueness of God. He really is everything. He is good and yet he is evil.
"A hallucination is merciful..."
